Born in Saint-Quentin, northern France, in 1926.
Studied at "Ecole des Beaux-Arts" under Brianchon. Receiving the Grand Prix de Rome was the starting point of his success. He later submitted his works to various exhibitions, such as Salon d'Automne, and received numerous awards. His color schemes are mainly various tones of sensual reds, and his paintings are highly respected all over the world. He has been to Japan several times since 1968, and his exhibitions have all been successful. He has also made illustrations for the books of Hemingway and Apollinaire.
